Hi, I’m Kristi Baker! I am a bookbinder and a proud member of The Artisan Group. I’m a Southern girl, and now I live in southern New Hampshire. I’m like any other mom of three but I am the one that drives my kids crazy instead of the other way around. I love all things artsy and will kill to learn how to do it all! Most of my day is spent talking about art with my Mom, also an artist, and all night creating it.
**** I am proud to announce that 85 of my Rustic Leather Pocket Notebooks will be included in the upcoming celebrity gifting bags at the GBK Academy Awards Gifting Suite via The Artisan Group Feb. 2020.
How I got started making journals
I come from a long line of artisans, who have been self taught like me. Very early in life I became addicted to writing about my day. I use journals to vent, to plan, and to jot my new ideas down so I don’t forget. But I got tired of the same plain ones at the big bookstores and took to learning how to make my own.
First they were just for me. I decided to share my love of bookbinding, vintage finds, and crafting. Most of my books are found at weddings or special events. They are elegant and rustic all at the same time. Creating a place to hold special memories, one page at a time.
I live on Earl Grey and Caramel Macchiatos. My dream is living in an old farmhouse with lots of land and finally growing an avocado from seed. The handmade wedding guest books and journals that I create are stitched with coptic binding, allowing them to lay flat when open. Each is unique, one of a kind!
