It has been a wild ride, but things are finally settling down after the Oscar’s gift lounge and winter break. I am just getting back into my art studio, but wanted to share with you the amazing photos that were captured at the event. I am so tickled to once again have my journals displayed via The Artisan Group at this years invitation-only luxury celebrity gift lounge that was hosted by the GBK Productions this past February. First up, we have a nice photo of up and coming Actor Sam Asghari holding my favorite journal on display. I do hope that he shares some of the TAG goodies with his well know girlfriend Britney Spears. Um, Hello!! If you don’t follow him on Instagram, go check his page out. I promise that you will be in for a treat.
And I was tickled to see that Anne-Marie Johnson took an interest in one of my journals, as well. She is best known for her role in The Heat of the Night. It was a favorite show of mine as I was growing up, so I am kind of fangirling right now. and last but not least, Fredrica Bailey also stopped by. She is an amazing writer and is best known for See You Yesterday, which was a nominee for Best First Feature. How cool is that? I hope you guys enjoyed the photos as much as I did. It is always an honor to see my handmade journals on such a stage. I am truly honored and blessed. Now, I am off to go create more for you! Be sure to check out my shop section, or my Etsy site, to own a journal for yourself, or to give to that special someone in your life. Until next time, Kristi
I have been teasing you guys with what I have been working on for the last few months. Well, today is the day that I get to tell you! The Nib and Quill, in association with The Artisan Group, will participate in an invitation-only luxury celebrity gift lounge hosted by the GBK Productions on Feb 7-8, 2020 at an exclusive location in West Hollywood, California in honor of the Oscar nominees and presenters. Attending celebrities, select press and media, and other VIP’s will receive our pocket sized rustic leather journals.I am excited to say that 85 of these beautiful journals will be included in the celebrity gift bags. I have used assorted colored threads on them to keep it fun and interesting. I can’t help but want to know who receives which color. My favorite color to work with was the mustard, as it’s my go to color for anything in life. I decided to go with a basic packaging. I usually tend to go with the homemade rustic look in all of my packaging . I will have two 5×7 journals on display. In the past I have received a few celebrity photos of them holding my journals at the event. I am crossing my fingers for this to happen again this year! Below is a picture of the the display journals in the process of being built. I fell in love this this handmade marble paper. I love to use vintage skeleton keys in most of my work, so it was a no brainer when I came across this beautiful piece! The brass skeleton key matched the gold marbling perfectly. I am super excited to share that my Elegant little Coptic journal, was gifted on The Wendy Williams Show about Oscar Swag on February 22, 2013! I created it just for this! I thought she would just love the feminine look of it.
Our journal, along with about 60 other artisan products from The Artisan Group, will be in this fabulous bag. This is such an exciting time for us! This huge, 69 pound bag of Swag, is full of journals, stationery, fine jewelry, and wonderful skin care, to just name a few. Who wouldn’t just die to peek inside? I know that I would.
I was blessed to have participated in the 2012 GBK Celebrate Gift Lounge for the Oscars, via The Artisan Group, and it was so much fun. I am thrilled to see all included this year. I know they are having such a great time and Wendy Williams is helping celebrate it!
Look who stopped by the 2012 GBK Academy Awards Celebrity Gift Lounge on Oscar Night! Tinsel Korey! She portrayed the MakahEmily Young in the Twilight Saga films New Moon and Eclipse. She will be returning as Emily Young in The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1 and The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2. I have read all of these books and have watched all the movies a thousand times. So… I am over the moon that she chose my journal to take a closer look at!
I am pokey on my posts it seems lately, but I do have some great news. I recently had the opportunity to gift Celebrity actress Ginnifer Goodwin and I have heard from her! I nearly fell out of my chair when I got this response.
Just thought that I would share the update. Stay tuned in to my blog, I will be blogging about more about my trip to the GBK Celebrity Gift Lounge soon.
I wanted to take this time to tell you about a new group that I recently became involved with, The Artisan Group! The Artisan Group is a group of talented Artisans that are carefully selected to provide Celebrities and Members of the Press wonderful gifts at all the major events, such as the Oscars, The Primetime Emmy’ s and the Golden Globes. As you may have seen during the Emmy’s, Many Celebrities even pose with these beautiful gifts.
The minute that I joined, I was embraced with love and support. The guidance is truly amazing and I can’t say enough how friendly everyone is. It is more of a family than a group. I love hopping from shop to shop, from store to store looking at everyone’s items and goods. I am awe struck and honored to be included in this amazing group and really want to extend the invitation. They are always looking for great Artisans. If you are interested in being represented in the next major awards show Gift Lounge, Check out WWW.Theartisangroup.org. Come join the fun!
I am over the moon to announce that my journals will be included in the Celebrity Swag Bags featured at the GBK’s Oscars Gift Lounge. My labels are in and the deadline is getting closer and closer… so much to do! Life moves very fast with the three children and their activities. My oldest son is busy driving here and there, having recently obtained his license. My young lady is busy being a star in the school show choir. And let’s be frank: a large amount of my mom energy is expended just trying to keep my youngest out of the dog’s water bowl! Any who, here is a sneak peek at my labels.
I think that I have the perfect ribbon in mind to wrap around the gift boxes (Thanks Kiki!) Kids are asleep… deep breath… let’s start making little journals!
