It was such a pleasure being able to display and gift my journals at the GBK MTV Movie Awards again this year. Things are finally calming down a bit since then, and I would like to share the celebrity photos that I have received.
First up is the amazing Adrienne Bailon. My daughter was a huge fan of the musical group The Cheetah Girls, and Adrienne was one of the members. She is now known as one of the hosts for ‘The Real’ day time talk show.
Second we have Dana Gourrier, an amazing actress. She has been in several movies and shows including “The Astronaut Wives Club” and “The Hateful Eight”, just to name a few.
And last but not least, we have Dre Davis, from “The Pretty Little Liars”. I am obsessed with this show, so you know that I was thrilled to see her posing with my journals.
I am so grateful to The Artisan Group for giving me the opportunity to participate in another amazing event.
I am excited to announce the following press release. Seriously, How cool is this? Lights, camera, action!

I am super excited to share that my Elegant little Coptic journal, was gifted on The Wendy Williams Show about Oscar Swag on February 22, 2013! I created it just for this! I thought she would just love the feminine look of it.
Our journal, along with about 60 other artisan products from The Artisan Group, will be in this fabulous bag. This is such an exciting time for us! This huge, 69 pound bag of Swag, is full of journals, stationery, fine jewelry, and wonderful skin care, to just name a few. Who wouldn’t just die to peek inside? I know that I would.
I was blessed to have participated in the 2012 GBK Celebrate Gift Lounge for the Oscars, via The Artisan Group, and it was so much fun. I am thrilled to see all included this year. I know they are having such a great time and Wendy Williams is helping celebrate it!
I have been so very busy with The Nib and Quill that I seem to have little time for anything else. Of course, my family is my main concern. They always have my heart first. But the one thing that I am missing most is my journal time. I find it so silly that I make these beautiful journals to write and note all the wonderful things in my life and I never have the time to actually write in one.
During one of our family outing this weekend, Hayes (my hubby) shared a quote. It was, “Never a day without a line ~ Horace”. It just struck a chord with me. I have decided to run with this in my life, as well as make it my new business motto.
I don’t know about you guys, but I know I feel so much better after I can jot down a few lines before bed. I like to reflect on the wonders of the day.
A little thing that I do with the kids is look for God’s daily gifts. I believe that He blesses us with a “happy” and it is up to us to find it. This weekend we were driving through the Arboretum in town and within 10 feet of our car was a deer munching on the leaves of a beautiful tree.He glanced at us several times, but knowing we were no danger to him, he continued to eat. The children thought it was so amazing. That was just one of our gifts! This is just another example of things that I like to journal.
What is the one thing you do to ease your mind, help with stress, or just plain fun for the day that you can’t live without?
So it’s late in the afternoon and you have no idea what to cook for dinner! Not to worry, because Rachael Ray has all the ideas you need to make the best meal in under 30 Minutes. Write them in your own journal and you too will have them at your fingertips in the kitchen!
She just revealed on her talk show that she loves to keep all of her recipes close by in her collection of journals. You can imagine how excited I was to hear that The Artisan Group chose me to gift her a journal! Wahoo! Her favorite color is Orange. So, I designed this journal just for her on-the-go recipes. She can chunk this little baby in her purse without worrying about bending the pages.
You can own one too! I made two extra ones to sell in my Etsy shop, but hurry! There is only one left!
Look who stopped by the 2012 GBK Academy Awards Celebrity Gift Lounge on Oscar Night! Tinsel Korey! She portrayed the MakahEmily Young in the Twilight Saga films New Moon and Eclipse. She will be returning as Emily Young in The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1 and The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2. I have read all of these books and have watched all the movies a thousand times. So… I am over the moon that she chose my journal to take a closer look at!
I have a huge announcement! The Nib and Quill will be gifting a little Coptic journal to none other than Hollywood actress Ginnifer Goodwin. She will be receiving one of my journals along with 34 other great gifts. Ginnifer will be receiving her Celebrity gift bag from The Artisan Group around the first week of December.
I am just so tickled about this amazing opportunity and truly hope that she loves my handmade journal and all the goodies that will be gifted with it.
I’ve always been the crafty girl. I come from a long line of Artisans in my family so paint and scissors were always in the junk drawer of the kitchen. Now I have about 4 of these drawers. Don’t worry, I clean them out to only one before Mama comes for a visit.
My mom and I made tons of items to give as gifts and our bond grew strong. I have three of my own children now and try to incorporate arts and crafts in our daily lives; plus, it keeps them from screaming and yelling at each other. Well that’s not exactly true.
I became addicted to writing about my day. My journals are used to vent, to plan, and to jot my new ideas down so I don’t forget. I got tired of the same plain ones at the big bookstores and took to learning how to make my own. First they were just for me. I decided to share my love of bookbinding and marched down to the best little local store in town, www.thepurplefern.com . I opened my Etsy shop shortly after and haven’t looked back.
